Easy Mobile Internet Connections: Attach, Click And Connect

To learn more about launch2net - Click Here

launch2net is a mobile connection manager for OS X. With launch2net, you can use your mobile device like a mobile phone, ExpressCard, PC datacard or USB modem to connect your Mac to the Internet in one easy step.

The powerful configuration assistant automatically detects your mobile device and configures your mobile Internet connection in seconds without the need to enter cryptic settings like user names, passwords or modem scripts. Thus it saves hours of your time which you would have spend on non mac-savy hotlines, searches on the Internet and installation orgies.

In addition, launch2net saves you from high roaming costs for mobile data. It is possible to use a prepaid card in other countries and use launch2net to connect your Mac to the Internet.

For US customers, launch2net works well with the latest 3G modems, ExpressCards and PC Cards from AT&T and offers much more than just a connect/disconnet button like advanced statistics, autoconnect and disconnect features and a menu icon to connect/disconnect without having to run the software at all.

    Better GUI.

Since this is based on GSM navigation, and that the bandwidth costs are quite elevated, perhaps a protocol restriction (like, just allowing HTTP through) would be a quite nice and perhaps easy (just play around with iptables…) feature to implement.

Working with old Nokias over GPRS would be great =) I don’t know how much work it is though, maybe it is not worth it.

I’d love to see launch2net automatically detect if the mobile connection speed is better/worse than any picked up (free/known) wifi signals, and connect with the strongest signal automatically.

Being able to tether phones that don’t inherently have that capability would be infinitely helpful. The main target of course being the iPhone.

I second the tethering of phones without that ability explicitly available - ie. iphone. Not sure if this is achievable, but i’m sure there’s a lot of iphone users out there waiting for exactly that.

Being able to send and receive sms’s and the possibility to choose the limit download quota in mb or gb.

It’d be great to set a download limit, since most of the mobile internet programs do have a limit

I would love to see settings for Australian carriers and data cards in the program!

Make it work with my iPhone as soon as v2 of the software is available.

Sending and receiving SMS’ would be a great plus. Maybe display it in some kind of chat window per recipient.

since it already has settings for germany, and would work with my phone it seems quite good.
I would push the idea of conection restriction even further, like a button reading: start browser, and a costumized profile of safari (or opera, i’d know how to configure that, not for safari) would pop up which is the only programm allowed to use the connection, it could be set to not load images, or flash, or plugins, or not pages that are to large.
There could also be a run Mail button, that gives conection permission to mail. You could configure such permissions for every other programm.

It should work for iPhone and have a better icon and designer interface. I suggest http://www.icondesigner.net/

He is a great icon designer.

    I LOVE THIS APP !!!

Just remembered. One feature it could have is-

Dual connection mode where a bigger window can help manage two connections and also a Statistics box that shows the bound stats of both connections!!!

more Statistics would be useful. When where you online, how much have you downloaded, how long was the time… and free adjustment of the period (that you can fit it to your bill-period)

For us dual-booters, who have to go online in Windows from time to time it would be great to be able to manually enter amounts of traffic/time spent elsewhere. So we would have all our stats in one place instead of having to keep in mind the values from both OS’.
