Top Draw 1.0 is an excellent free image generation application for OS X, that automatically creates complex and beautiful desktop wallpaper images. There is even a viewer that can be installed in your menubar to automatically run with the parameters that you have specified.

It uses Apples Quartz and CoreImage rendering engines to create beautiful particle systems, plasma clouds, multi-layer compositions and much more.
